This quintet shines the spotlight on the all-important role that McCoy Tyner played in the John Coltrane Quartet. Tyner’s talent and charisma led him to become a star in the pantheon of modern jazz as he influenced generations of pianists. This tribute performance also focuses on Tyner’s original compositions that are known for their high levels of emotional tension that enthrall and enrapture even those unfamiliar with this master’s work.
