In Viaggio (“Traveling”) is the title of a song by Sonia Schiavone dedicated to the world’s refugees who have left their homeland for any number of reasons – whether moved by hunger, fear, or the longing to chase a dream, in a quest for life, hope and, yes, even artistic expression. This set serves up contemporary jazz by world-class composers and original material, all based on a single theme: traveling and its many facets.
